Very large specimens of gunnera available. Contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Gunnera manicata is a giant herbaceous perennial. A huge furry rhizome lies on the soil surface from which stout, 2 metre spiny leaf stalks emerge. These carry immense, puckered, scalloped, rough textured leaves that can reach over 3 metres in width. Spiky-looking but soft-fingered flower stalks add to the plant's primeval feel. Reaching full potential in a sheltered position in a mild, wet climate in a bog, at the edge of a stream or pond this is simply one of the most dramatic plants that can be grown in the UK.
